PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The City of Jackson (pop. 3323) is seeking its very first Public Works Director! This is a leadership position responsible for directing, planning, performing and coordinating the operation and maintenance of the Public Works Department including streets, water, wastewater, parks, stormwater infrastructure, and general building maintenance. Position also oversees and supervises the Parks Coordinator and serves as the City’s official Emergency Management Director.
Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of municipal experience including streets, parks, water and wastewater collection, distribution, and treatment; stormwater management. Educational training in any of the fields will be equivalent to experience. -Experience supervising and leading employees; and creating and implementing budgets and long-term planning.
Licenses/certification required: • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive within the State of Minnesota. Must possess, or have the ability to acquire within ninety (90) days of employment, a valid Minnesota Class B driver's license w/air brake endorsement and be able to drive in the State of Minnesota.
Licenses Desired, but not required:• Pesticide Applicators License• Certified Pool Operator• Class C or above Water License• Class D or above Wastewater License
