New claims dropped to nearly 1,789 during the last full week of July. However, the previous week’s claims dropped from 17,706 to 15,917. That is a total of 5,607 claims from July 11 to July 18.
From July 18 to July 25, the total unemployment claims in Minnesota increased from 314,937 to 323,619.
In the week of July 25, 1.4 million total claims were announced on a national level. The national unemployment total for new claims at the end of July was 16.9 million.
California led the charge in new unemployment claims, with a total of 249,007 at the end of July, according to The Center Square.
The advance adjusted insured unemployment rate for the entire season was 11.6% by mid-July, which is an increase of 0.5% from July 11, according to the Department of Labor and Industry. The report is a week behind by the time they are released to the public.
