Murray County: 0.8% less students were enrolled in 2024-25 school year

There were 1,057 students enrolled in Murray County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 0.8% less than the previous year, according to reports from the Minnesota Department of Education.

In terms of gender distribution, the student body in Murray County comprised 52.2% boys, with girls representing the remaining 47.8%.

Data also showed that white students made up 84.6% of the student body, the largest percentage in Murray County schools, followed by Hispanic students with 9.7%, 2.1% Asian students, 1.4% multiracial students, 1% American Indian students, 1% Black students and 0.1% Other Indigenous Peoples students.

Murray County Central High School had the highest enrollment among Murray County's five schools in the 2024-25 school year, welcoming 328 students.

With more than 870,000 students enrolled, Minnesota's public school system is the 10th-largest in the United States. As of 2025 the student-to-teacher ratio in the state’s public schools is 15 to 1, on par with the national average.
