Were students of Red Rock Central School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Math testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Red Rock Central School District ranked fourth in the Cottonwood County for test participation, with 198 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Red Rock Central School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 8.8% over the previous year.

Red Rock Central School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 54% in 2021-22 school year.

11th-grade students stood out with 45% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, sixth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 38% not meeting the expected standards.

Red Rock Central School District encompasses schools within Cottonwood County and has a main office in Lamberton.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
