How did Cedar Mountain School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Math tests?

Cedar Mountain School District ranked second in the Redwood County for test participation, with 211 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Cedar Mountain School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 2.4% over the previous year.

Cedar Mountain School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 33% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 52% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 52% not meeting the expected standards.

Cedar Mountain School District encompasses schools within Redwood County and has a main office in Morgan.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
