How did Round Lake-Brewster Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Reading tests?

Round Lake-Brewster Public School District ranked third in the Nobles County for test participation, with 225 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Round Lake-Brewster Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 16.6% over the previous year.

Round Lake-Brewster Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 39% in 2021-22 school year.

Fifth grade students stood out with 18% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, third grade students had the most room for improvement, with 52% not meeting the expected standards.

Round Lake-Brewster Public School District encompasses schools within Nobles County and has a main office in Brewster.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
