Truman Public School District: MCA and MTAS Reading results for 2021-22 school year

Truman Public School District ranked third in the Martin County for test participation, with 112 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Truman Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 8.9% from the previous year.

Truman Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 38% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 36% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 56% not meeting the expected standards.

Truman Public School District encompasses schools within Martin County and has a main office in Truman.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
