MCA and MTAS: How many Martin County West School District students took their Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Martin County West School District ranked second in the Martin County for test participation, with 327 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Martin County West School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year fell by 4.7% from the previous year.

Martin County West School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 43% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 24% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 51% not meeting the expected standards.

Martin County West School District encompasses schools within Martin County and has a main office in Sherburn.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
