How many Minneota Public School District students took their MCA and MTAS Reading tests in 2021-22 school year?

Minneota Public School District ranked fourth in the Lyon County for test participation, with 278 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Minneota Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 0.4% over the previous year.

Minneota Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 61% in 2021-22 school year.

10th-grade students stood out with 24% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, eighth grade students had the most room for improvement, with 28% not meeting the expected standards.

Minneota Public School District encompasses schools within Lyon County and has a main office in Minneota.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
