Were students of Lynd Public School District able to meet MCA and MTAS Reading testing expectations in 2021-22 school year?

Lynd Public School District ranked fifth in the Lyon County for test participation, with 89 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Lynd Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 8.5% over the previous year.

Lynd Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 35% in 2021-22 school year.

Fifth grade students stood out with 15% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, seventh grade students had the most room for improvement, with 64% not meeting the expected standards.

Lynd Public School District encompasses schools within Lyon County and has a main office in Lynd.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
