How many Butterfield Public School District students took their MCA and MTAS Math tests in 2021-22 school year?

Butterfield Public School District ranked third in the Watonwan County for test participation, with 109 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Butterfield Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 11.2% over the previous year.

Butterfield Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 25% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 20% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 89% not meeting the expected standards.

Butterfield Public School District encompasses schools within Watonwan County and has a main office in Butterfield.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
