Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment
August 23, 2022
The Martin County Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment will be conducting a public hearing on August 23, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be held in the Martin County Commissioners Room, located on the first floor of the Courthouse, 201 Lake Avenue – Fairmont, MN. The following item will be on the agenda:
Variance Request from Schwieger Hogs LLP (Lonny Schwieger, owner) within Section 11 of Fraser Township. Mr. Schwieger is proposing to construct a building to enclose an existing in-ground truck scale encroaching closer than the minimum required setback from the centerline of the public right-of-way in an “A” Agricultural District. The Martin County Zoning Ordinance requires a 200-foot setback from the centerline of any public right-of-way for a new building site effective February 17, 2004 and one hundred and thirty (130) feet from the centerline of any public right-of-way for existing building sites constructed before February 17, 2004. Existing building sites cannot further encroach closer than the nearest present building from the centerline of the road provided greater than 130 feet from the centerline in an “A” Agricultural District.
Any persons interested in this public hearing are urged to attend the Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment meeting.
