Windom Area Chamber Of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Kayaks will be back at Cottonwood Lake for FREE public use starting next week. After so much delay on ones we had secured for our community this Spring, yesterday CVB President Al Baloun & I decided to see what our local Runnings Stores had left for inventory. We ended up purchasing 2 adult kayaks, one youth kayak & one fishing kayak. This morning thanks to the help of our awesome Street Department director Jon Ketenzberg I was able to seal them & hopefully protect them for being destroyed.
Our budget that was earmarked for the Kayak Program is almost drained due to the damage on our kayaks from last year.
We are asking our community to take pride in these items & other things that are donated to bring enjoyment, family fun & also visitors into our community.
All our ask of our community is:
All items be returned in the condition you found them.
These are use of Cottonwood Lake ONLY, if taken from Tegels Park location they are assumed to be stolen.
If damaged or found damaged please call Tim at 507-822-0514 or the City of Windom at 507-831-6129.
Carry DO NOT drag the kayaks.
Please wear life jackets & all children should have adult supervision as no life guard is on duty.
We want to continue to bring activities & things into our community, please help us make that possible!
Personal shout out to our streets department, park & rec department, Schwalbach Ace Hardware, Runnings & Windom Quick Print for helping with a fast turnaround to get these in the water. I appreciate the heck out of each of you!!!!!
