City Of Lakefield recently issued the following announcement.
Project Update #23
IF YOU ARE A LANDLORD, PLEASE SHARE THIS NEWSLETTER WITH YOUR RENTERS/TENANTS.
Week of May 16, 2022
The contractor has continued to place sanitary sewer main on TH 86 going south from the 7th Avenue N intersection and has been placed up to the Menage Avenue. Storm sewer on TH 86 has also continued and has been placed up the Funk Avenue intersection. Concrete crews continued with sidewalk on Chicago Street but were shut down with some minor rain events. Black dirt and seeding work has begun in some portions of town with Summer Lane, Belmont Street and 6th Avenue S being completed. Notice that seeding contractor has purposefully left the black dirt down below the sidewalk and curb and gutter to prevent runoff from rain events, as well as to aim for the appropriate soil swell upon grass growth.
Week of May 23, 2022
The contractor will proceed with water main installation between Menage Avenue and the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Pending good weather, services may begin to be installed as well. Concrete crews will continue to install sidewalk on Chicago Street and what is left on 3rd Avenue N. Concrete curb and gutter on Margaret Avenue could possibly start if sidewalk placement is completed.
General Information
The contractor has currently completed the excavation needed to get past the 7th Avenue N intersection. This means any Lakefield residents that need to access the Shed Bar and Grill or Dollar General will need to access from the 7th Avenue N and TH 86 intersection.
