City Of Lakefield recently issued the following announcement.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an in-person public meeting on Tuesday, April 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lakefield City Hall, 301 Main Street, to learn about the Hwy 86 project and prepare for construction expected to begin in mid-April. There is no formal presentation planned, and attendees are welcome to arrive anytime.
Staff from MnDOT and the contractor will be present at the open house style meeting to provide information about the project and answer questions.
MnDOT will reconstruct approximately 1.3 miles of Hwy 86 through Lakefield. The project will include grading, pavement, utility replacement, lighting, drainage, and sidewalk reconstruction.
Weather permitting, construction is expected to begin in mid-April and be completed by mid-November. Hwy 86 through Lakefield will be closed during construction and traffic detoured.
Those who are unable to attend the open house can visit the Hwy 86 website for more information, to sign up for email updates, and for staff contacts.
