City of Madelia issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.
Compost Site will be closed for the season beginning December 14th (Monday).
Hours are as follows:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays – 9:00 a.m. to noon; 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Only trees, tree trimmings, brush, leaves, garden plants and grass clippings are accepted.
ALL OTHER MATERIAL (including garbage, lumber, concrete, cement, cardboard, windows, doors and furniture) is prohibited. Violators will be prosecuted.
The Madelia Compost site is only available for use to residents or business owners within our community. It is located on the west side of Joy Avenue SW across from the golf course.
