City of Porter issued the following announcement on July 17.
The Porter Harvest Festival Committee has been discussing our annual community celebration for a couple months and we want to share that the Porter Harvest Festival will be held on August 14, 15 and 16, but in a very scaled-back way. Out of respect for our community and the front-line workers in our healthcare systems we will be taking a responsible and safe approach to events that are held. Additionally, a big focus of all Harvest Festival events in 2020 will be to support our local Porter businesses to the greatest extent possible.
A number of events that we all love will not be held this year, but we want to make sure that our community has the ability to celebrate what we have, while maintaining appropriate distance, and at the same time show support for those who have invested in Porter year after year, our business community.
We will provide a schedule of the events that will take place soon and ask that everyone stay safe in the meantime
