City of Porter issued the following announcement on May 29.
It's Road Work season in Porter. Road repairs to Porter streets will begin today. The repairs will address damages caused during the flooding and extremely high ground water tables during the spring of 2019. Please be aware that in some cases several feet of road surface will be excavated and replaced as a part of this work. Work will be performed starting May 28 and last for several weeks on the following city streets:
Locust Street
Chestnut Street
Maple Street
Oak Street
Prairie Avenue
Brook Avenue
160th Avenue
170th Avenue
240th Street
Alleyways in the North 200 and 300 blocks will also be repaired in locations that were damaged.
Please stay alert to road barricades and use alternative routes during closures.
