Comfrey Farm recently suspended operations at its Windom pork processing plant after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a statement posted on Comfrey Farm Prime Pork’s Facebook page, most employees returned to work after the company performed a two-day deep clean sanitization of the entire Windom plant.

Comfrey Farms has implemented a number of preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of its employees and communities. This includes performing health screenings on employees, conducting interviews with employees to determine whether they have been in contact with someone with the coronavirus, and increasing physical distancing between employees working at the plant.

“During these difficult times, we want to thank our team members for their diligence in protecting themselves and each other, and for their continued support as we get through this together,” Comfrey Farms wrote in the Facebook post.

Comfrey Farm expects to resume full operations at the plant in Windom during the week of May 4.
