Mayo Clinic College Of Medicine & Science issued the following announcement on April 9.
#AlumniSpotlight: Meet Sarang Koushik, M.D.
Dr. Koushik is an alumnus of the Anesthesiology Residency Program in Arizona, and today he is in New York working on the front lines with COVID-19 patients. He recently sent us the below update:
“The experience I have had in the Bronx managing COVID-19 patients has been nothing short of all consuming. Three years after graduation from residency, I am back in an intensive care unit setting in the midst of a pandemic, using vital concepts I learned on critical care rotations. Before moving to Manhattan, I heard stories about the resilience, teamwork, and compassion exemplified by New Yorkers in times of difficulty. I have witnessed these qualities first hand with my neighbors in midtown or healthcare colleagues managing the front lines. In order to combat this virus, we need to be adaptable, proactive, and resourceful throughout the country. I have no doubt that with the dedication shown from healthcare professionals across the nation, we can unite together to overcome the damage caused by this disease.”
Dr. Koushik completed his residency in 2017 and currently works as an anesthesiologist in New York.
Thank you to all of our #healthcareheros!
