Snowremove

City of Madelia issued the following announcement on Feb. 11.

The city of Madelia is declaring a snow emergency effective at 5:00AM on Sunday, February 9, 2020. All vehicles must be removed from the street to allow for proper plowing of clearing of snow from the street. Vehicles remaining on the street in violation of the snow emergency ordinance will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Initial clearing of roadways is planned prior to church services Sunday morning and exceptions will be made for on street parking during those services and parking at businesses in the downtown business district on Sunday. Residents should plan to keep vehicles off the street through Monday morning to allow for clearing of additional accumulations of snow expected.
