On Friday, March 6, Hadley Sammons, a former Windom Senior High School standout, and her Saint Mary’s Cardinals team were defeated 65-47 by the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors in the NCAA Division III Basketball Tournament.
The contest, held at Kolf Sports Center at 4:45 p.m., marked the teams’ first meeting in the tournament.
Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall allocated $441,725 to women’s basketball teams in 2024, exceeding the state average of $377,179 by $64,546, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Granite Falls allocated $53,070 to men’s basketball teams in 2024, which is $434,304 below the state average of $487,374, according to the U.S. Department of Education.
